Health and safety policies


Health and safety within sports, leisure activity and all outdoor activities is essential. It involves assessing potential risks, such as injuries and illness, and preparing plans to eliminate or reduce those risks. Tutors and trainers must also make sure that all those taking part in the activity are safe.

Participants in sport and games are at an increased risk of injury because of the very nature of the games and sports they do. The tutor or trainer plays an important part in preparing and reacting to an injury situation. This knowledge and level of alertness helps reduce the number of events that lead to injury and the severity of the injury.
