Things to consider when planning a sports activity session


Planning a session will often take twice as long as undertaking a session!

What do you think needs to be considered when planning for a coaching session?

Look at the list which tells you about different considerations you should think about when working with different types of people or participants. This should help you to plan your session.

  • Number of people.
  • Age.
  • Gender.
  • Previous experience of playing sport.
  • Fitness levels.
  • Knowledge of the sport (can come from watching and not doing).
  • Medical conditions, (any injuries, medical conditions etc).
  • Reasonable adjustments for people with disabilities.
