Coaches need to analyse the feedback and identify any weaknesses. These could be due to lack of skill, knowledge, experience etc. The shortcomings could be due to the coach, not just the participant. Everybody has weaknesses, even the top professional coaches!

What do you think your weaknesses might be at present?

An example of this could be:

‘Knowledge of ‘practice skills’ in a specific sport.

Think about what would help you with this.

Here are some examples of things that could help with your weaknesses:

  • Completing a specific course in the sport, through a sporting organisation.
  • Working with experienced coaches in that sport.
  • Observing sport coaches in a specific field. Sometimes this is called ‘shadowing’.

Perhaps you could do this as part of your work experience.
